Sharon Cushing MD, MSc, FRCSC

Sharon Cushing is a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and paediatric otolaryngologist at The Hospital for Sick Children where she is Director of the Cochlear Implant Program.
Dr. Cushing has a clinical and surgical interest in disorders of the external, middle and inner ear, including hearing loss and vestibular dysfunction. Her research interests include vestibular and balance function and dysfunction in children, and its association with hearing loss and cochlear implantation.
Karen Gordon PhD, CCC-A, Reg. CASLPO

Karen Gordon is a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and audiologist in the Cochlear Implant Program at The Hospital for Sick Children. She is also the Cochlear Americas Chair in Auditory Development and a Bastable-Potts Health Clinician Scientist in Hearing Impairment.
Dr. Gordon's research focuses on auditory development in children who are deaf and use cochlear implants. Her early work examined the role of a unilateral implant to promote changes in the auditory brainstem, thalamus, and cortex. She has also examined ways to improve auditory development and hearing for children who are deaf through the use of bilateral cochlear implants.
